My Retro 8-Bit Journey & CreatiVision Cloning!

Talk about programming CreatiVision (except games programming). Projects of homebrew hardware are also welcome.

I've just posted Part 3, where I introduce a major verison upgrade (v2.0) for the CreatiVision Controller interface.

The perfectionist in me is now happy to call the CreatiVision Controller part of my project complete!

Needless to say, I'm pretty proud and excited about my v2.0 changes!

Part 3 can be found here: Minimalist Europe Card Bus (MECB) - 6502 CreatiVision re-Creation (Part 3)

Also, don't forget, my CreatiVision re-Creation project series, also features in my RetroChallenge 2024/10 entry, as my primary October project to create my CreatiVision Keyboard.

My progress, on what will now become a future Part 4, can be followed on my Blog, here: RetroChallenge 2024/10 (RC2024)

What are the major changes in this new version? Is there a changelog?

The quickest way to understand the changes would be to just skim the Blog post:
6502 CreatiVision re-Creation (Part 3) - Blog

For each of my videos I also create a blog post, for those who prefer to read instead of watch. :)

Very briefly, v2.0 introduces two significant changes:
- Firstly, in terms of powering the controller when using an original Console.
- Secondly, both support for the new wired & wireless CX78+ Dual-Button controllers (Atari 7800 controllers), as well as automatic detection of the controller that is connected to the DB9 ports (so, no longer any pin 5 or pin 9 second-button jumpers).

I’m really happy with my version 2 CreatiVision Controller, which I believe now finally delivers the ultimate CreatiVision Controller interface.

Thanks TOM.

You might also be interested that my CreatiVision Mechanical Keyboard project is almost done too. Hopefully, I'll have a video of me assembling the first one and demonstrating it, by the end of the week. I think that'll finally complete my CreatiVision journey. :geek:
